Who are we?

At Den Breejen Shipyard, shipbuilding is in our blood. Established in 1947 and based in Hardinxveld-Giessendam since then, we have grown to become a major player in the inland shipping sector, both for newbuildings and for repairs and conversions. Our specialisation in the construction of river cruise vessels has earned us international recognition. We design, develop and build fully 'custom-built' vessels and are based in a modern facility with well-equipped premises (including fitting-out quays and dry docks) directly on the Merwede, one of the main waterways in the Netherlands. Den Breejen stands for quality and commitment, and the company culture is informal, open, people-oriented and pragmatic.

What are your duties?

You are our company's calling card, and as a hostess you will be responsible for the reception/facilities together with your direct colleagues. You will also assist with administrative tasks and take on projects such as organising staff activities.

  • Minimum MBO working and thinking level
  • Several years' experience in a similar role
  • You are well groomed, presentable, communicative and resilient.
  • You are good at planning, organising and keeping track of things.
  • You have a good command of Dutch and English, German is an advantage.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Greeting visitors, dealing with incoming emails and phone calls

  • Assisting with (client) meetings, e.g. arranging lunches

  • Provide administrative support to various departments

  • Managing kitchen, office and hardware supplies

  • Maintain kitchen, archive and meeting rooms

  • Point of contact for facilities issues, such as managing the switchboard and printers

  • Other general tasks
