Vacancy: Project Manager Services (40 hours a week)

Who are we?

At Den Breejen Shipyard, shipbuilding is in our blood. Founded in 1947 and located in Hardinxveld-Giessendam ever since, we have grown to become a key player in the inland shipping sector, both for new construction, repairs, and refits. Our specialization in the construction of river cruise ships has gained us international recognition. We design, develop, and build fully 'custom-built' vessels and are based in a modern facility with a well-equipped company site (including outfitting quays and dry docks) directly adjacent to the Merwede River, one of the main waterways in the Netherlands. What are your duties

As services project leader, you will be responsible for the manufacture and installation of our propeller shafts and repair projects that take place at our yard and docks. Do you get excited by inland navigation, are you a real team player and do you feel responsible to successfully realise these projects from acquisition to delivery and payment? Then you are the new colleague we would like to add to our team! You will coordinate the execution and delivery in good cooperation with the customer and our technical and procurement departments. To achieve this, you are the spider in the web, coordinating all relevant matters with the customer and ensuring flawless project execution. You manage the team and take care of the preparation, execution and after-care of activities internally and those we outsource to our subcontractors and suppliers.


Duties and responsibilities

  • You are responsible for executing the services and deliveries as agreed with the customer within schedule and budget;
  • You take care of issuing quotations up to and including the final commercial settlement after the services delivered, supported by the organisation including our commercial and administrative team;
  • Taking care of the preparation, execution and settlement of subcontracted work;
  • Providing timely information for invoicing purposes, including additional and less work;
  • Informing and consulting with the operations manager and the projects manager on project progress.
Profile
  • Minimum MBO working and thinking level, preferably in the direction of Mechanical Engineering or Shipbuilding;
  • A number of years' experience in a similar position;
  • You have commercial skills, are communicatively strong & stress-resistant;
  • You are good at planning, organising, keeping an overview and you like to take the lead;
  • You have a good command of the Dutch and English languages, both verbally and in writing, German is an advantage.
