Vacancy: Dock worker (40 hours)

Will you be the new addition to our dock team?
At Den Breejen Shipyard, it’s all about craftsmanship. From our own harbour and two dry docks, we ensure that ships can return to service safely, quickly and professionally. No two days are the same. One moment you’re working on repairing a propeller shaft, the next you’re helping with a major damage repair project. Together with a team of enthusiastic colleagues, you’ll ensure that every ship leaves our yard in top condition. We’re looking for an enthusiastic Dock Worker for our yard in Hardinxveld-Giessendam.

As a Dock Worker, you’ll be a key member of our shipyard team. You’ll carry out a wide range of tasks on ships moored in our docks for maintenance, repair or modification. You’ll work on challenging technical projects, learn something new every day and see the immediate results of your work. Thanks to your efforts, our customers can rely on a safe and reliable fleet.

• Carrying out work for classification society inspections.
• Assisting with a wide range of repair and maintenance work on ships.
• Carrying out damage repair work.
• Replacing and fitting ship propellers.
• Repairing propeller shafts and steering gear.
• Fitting sandblasting nozzles.
• Maintaining our dry-dock facilities.

Engineering is in your blood. You enjoy getting stuck in, love working outdoors and take pride in achieving tangible results together with your colleagues.

• You also bring the following to the role:
• A technical and/or maritime background.
• An interest in shipbuilding and engineering.
• A keen to learn and motivated attitude.
• A sense of responsibility and an eye for safety.
• The ambition to develop yourself further within the profession.
