Vacancy: Dock worker (40 hours)

As a dock worker, you’ll play a role that brings together engineering, teamwork, and the maritime world. At the heart of our repair department, with our own harbor and two dry docks rated at 400 and 800 tons, we ensure that ships are returned to service safely, quickly, and professionally.

We’re looking to expand our team of dock workers! Do you have extensive experience, or are you just starting your career and looking to grow? You ensure that ships can continue their journey quickly and safely—from the slipway, in the dry dock, and at the quay. From repairs to docking and undocking! No daily grind, because your days are never the same: one day you’re helping a ship in distress, the next you’re working with your team on major maintenance. Together we get the job done, because shipbuilding is in our DNA!

At Den Breejen Shipyard, we’ve been building and repairing ships since 1947. We’re a major player in inland shipping and are known for our custom work on ships, especially river cruise ships.

• Docking and undocking ships;
• Replacing propellers;
• Small welding and metalwork;
• Repairs to propeller shafts, rudders, and steering systems;
• On-site installation of propeller shaft systems;
• Damage repair;
• Maintenance of our docks.

You are someone who gets things done, thinks proactively, and always puts safety first. Additionally:

• You have a technical and/or maritime background;
• You have knowledge of metalwork and welding;
• You are enthusiastic about shipbuilding;
• You are eager to learn and can work independently;
• You have a good command of the Dutch and/or English language;
• Don’t have much experience yet? We’d be happy to train you to become an independent dock worker!
