Vacancy • (junior) project engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for the engineering and work preparation for newbuild ships and/or existing ships, focusing mainly on the mechanical engineering side. You will create ship designs, check and develop them. Additionally, you will be responsible for setting up, developing, and checking the main and auxiliary systems (ship propulsion, HVAC, mechanical and electrical installations), along with the corresponding diagrams and overview drawings. Depending on the project phase, you will work closely with our commercial department, project manager, and/or production. You are eager to learn and not only want to develop yourself but are also interested in further exploring new technologies, such as sustainability in shipping.

• Engineering and work preparation for new-build and/or existing vessels
• Setting up, checking and elaborating the ship design
• Setting up, working out and checking the main and auxiliary systems (ship propulsion, HVAC, mechanical and electrical installations)
• Setting up schematics and overview drawings
• Checking and reviewing the documentation of these systems.
• Maintaining contact with subcontractors, suppliers and inspection bodies
• Directing a project (in consultation and cooperation with the Manager Engineering)
• Maintaining and increasing technical knowledge and skills 

• Minimum HBO working and thinking level, preferably in the direction of Mechanical Engineering or Shipbuilding
• Engineering
•  Several years of experience in a similar position
• You are communicatively strong and stress resistant
• You are good at planning, organizing and keeping an overview
•  You are fluent in Dutch and English, oral and written, German is an advantage.
