Vacancy: Foreman  Newbuild
(40 hours a week)

At Den Breejen Shipyard, we work daily on challenging new-build, conversion and refit projects for inland waterway transport and river cruises. Craftsmanship, quality and teamwork are central to what we do. To successfully complete our projects, we are looking for an enthusiastic New-Build Foreman who can motivate the team and make a difference alongside their colleagues.

As Newbuild Foreman, you’ll lead a team of skilled professionals on a daily basis as they work on the technical and interior fit-out of our vessels. You’ll ensure that work is carried out according to schedule, monitor quality and act as the point of contact on the work floor.

You’ll maintain an overview, think ahead and step in yourself where necessary. Thanks to your commitment, a hull is transformed into a fully operational ship and projects are successfully completed.

What will you be doing?

• Managing, supervising and motivating staff and subcontractors.
• Co-ordinating day-to-day work on board.
• Monitoring the schedule, quality and progress of projects, together with the project manager.
• Coordinating work with project managers, suppliers and other disciplines.
• Checking that technical installations and finishing works are carried out correctly.
• Ensuring a safe, tidy and organised working environment.
• Helping out on board when the situation requires it.

In addition, you bring the following to the role:

• Experience in the outfitting of inland waterway vessels and/or river cruise ships.
• Technical insight and knowledge of on-board ship installations.
• Leadership qualities and good communication skills.
• A practical approach and a strong sense of responsibility.
• An eye for quality, safety and planning.
• A good command of the Dutch and/or English languages.
